Idea of the Month: July 2005

Sadly, there have been bombings in the subways (the tube) in London. This is a problem for DC and many large city in the US and the terror alert is high. The main problem, according to Homeland Security and The White House is it is impossible to secure or screen the metro.

Why not set-up a chemical scanning (such as the bomb scan they do at the airport radomly) in the card readers in the subway. When people slide their cards to enter the metro the card reader should perform a quick chemical test against the card for any bomb making material. Everyone that enters the subway would need to enter through this machine, and it would be a quick check.
