Brothers

Wow! I was amazed to look at this photo of Dryver that I took this past weekend when we were at the pumpkin patch. He really looks like a teenager and is starting to act like one (in a good way). He is growing up so fast, and that is a bad Cliché to say as a parent. He really impresses me with his maturity and ability to respect other people. He is such a good kid and is really turning into a good person.

He has been engaged in learning and trying to understand life and all the questions in life. I am sure he gets his inquisitive nature from me. He always asks very smart questions and they have been more and more intelligent everyday. It reminds me of a quote about children and growing up.

'You know that children are growing up when they start asking questions that have answers.' - John J. Plomp

Dryver truly shows respect for everyone he meets, he is so caring towards all people and living things, he always looks out for his friends and family, and shows his love and emotions on his sleeve. I am proud of where he is and am amazed that he was in an incubator less than 5 years ago. Dryver also is such a great big brother! He takes the time to guide and lead Stryde towards the right decisions, he also is always looking out for Stryde to make sure he is okay and is protected in a way that only a big brother can do. Dryver teaches Stryde. He cares about making sure Stryde is making the right decisions and also that Stryde is protected.

I watch Dryver and Stryde as they play and wrestle, and know in my heart they are best friends and will always be best friends. It makes me feel so good in my heart to see them play and show the love towards each other. I feel the love and caring I had while growing up with my two sisters. The best times of my life were spent with Abby and Molly and I could only hope I was as good a good brother as Dryver is to Stryde. I think of my sisters everyday and all we experienced together. We don't talk very often these days, but I know the love between us is so strong that we are always there for each other.

The bond Dryver and Stryde have already is one of unconditional love and trust. It is the bond that only brothers will ever know. Regardless of what happens to Jennifer or me, or to the world, they will always be there for each other.
