This Puts Things Into Perspective...

This photo, out of a High-School Science book, shows how large, or small for that matter, the Earth really is. You can see in the first illustration that the Earth is pretty darn big.


But then check out how small we are compared to the other planets that actually are more than just a chunk of ice like Pluto.



Then of course comes the star of our Solar System, The Sun. Check out this bad-boy, it is bigger than all the other planets combined 100x.

But wait, The Sun is one of the smallest stars in the Galaxy. There are stars like Sirius and Pollux that dwarf our monster Sun.

This type of illustration makes you think. We are really just specks in the pile of dust known as the Milky Way.
