"Last Touch" - Iraqi woman and her son...

A woman takes her dead son into her arms, as she grieves for her six-year-old son, Dhiya Thamer, who was killed when their family car came under fire by unknown gunmen in Baqouba, capital of Iraq's Diyala province, 60 kilometers (35 miles) northeast of Baghdad, Iraq

This honestly brought a tear to my eye. Not often does a photograph capture such a completely raw and hauntingly real image.

I don't want to comment on the politics behind this war or who is responsible, just look at this picture and see a mother looking into her son's eyes as he slips away into the darkness. This is war, not gunner-cams from apaches or co-ordinates for artillery.

This is the face of war, The destruction and butchery of everything it touches.
